Fellow lone travellers can agree that there are so many perks to adventuring solo. If you’re on the cusp of taking a solo trip but you have a few doubts, I’m here to reassure you, you’re on the edge of a great thing… 1. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, with whoever you want. That’s right, complete freedom! You can do whatever. you. want. If you want to get up at 4AM to watch the sunrise, nobody’s gonna tell you no. If you want to spend a whole day shopping, you can. If you want to just relax in your hotel all day, you can! It’s up to you whether you want to hang out with others too, if you’re staying in a hostel, you’re going to meet super fun people, so the option to be with people is always there. Solo Travelling: New York

After completing my first 24 hours in New York City I feel confident enough to tell myself… “Hell yeah YOU did it!!!!” The lead up to my flight was quite stressful because, me being me, I left everything until the last minute. I’m talking important things like travel insurance and converting my £ to $. So after accepting my unorganised self, I got on with it as best I could and you know what? I made it to New York in one piece, with my luggage intact. After many sleepless nights and text messages from worried friends, I was starting to re-think the idea of doing this on my own. So many things can go wrong! I miss my flight, I get lonely, I run out of money, I get lost in a city I don’t know… All of these things could of happened or might still happen.
