Why The Hiatus?

I have to apologise!  It’s been almost a month since I last wrote something on my site… …So, I’m sorry. It’s been too long and there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t thought about writing. So why has it taken me this long to talk to you guys? Well.. As you all know I went travelling for a month around the U.S (check out previous blog posts) and it was a great time, but I’ve been back for over a month now and my life has changed a lot since I got back. Firstly, I don’t live in London anymore. I had a strong feeling in my gut that I wouldn’t be coming back to my ordinary life. As soon as I got into Gatwick coming from Los Angeles I just knew I wasn’t ready to go back to London. Why? Honestly, I was getting sick of it before I left. The weather, the people, the commute. Everything was grinding my gears and I needed to escape. Now I’m back in Hertfordshire where my …

Habits I Picked Up Whilst Travelling

Finding Time to Read When your budget is small and you can’t afford to go to the MOMA in NYC or shop till you drop on Fifth Avenue… You go to the park and read. As it might be your cheapest option. I found myself reading a lot more whilst travelling because firstly, I had an abundance of time for myself, secondly it was free (if you already have a book) and thirdly I just enjoyed being able to stop, sit-down and take in my surroundings whilst reading a great story. Keeping Up With My Skin-Care Routine There is no excuse for getting sloppy with your skin-care whilst on holiday. You have all the time in the world!!! It also helps to believe in the products you’re using. I took a trip to Glossier the first second I got to New York (read here) and bought a bottle of Milky Jelly Cleanser. The whole experience of buying it directly from the Glossier Penthouse then using it for the first time and being blown away, has made …

24 lessons for 24 years

So yesterday, I turned 24 years old! I love my birthday because it gives me a chance to reflect on how life was a year ago. Looking back and being here today, life has definitely taken a turn for the better and so many lessons have been learnt. Some of these lessons I need to remind myself of daily, some are imprinted on my mind. I wanted to share with you some of the most inspiring quotes I’ve read, I’ve learnt and still teaching myself about, so you can be the best version of yourself too.. 1. When you stop censoring yourself and show people who the real you is, the right people will come into your life. 2. You are not your status, you are not the money you make. 3. The amount of effort you put into something, is the same amount of effort you get back. 4. Things that have happened to you, do not define who you are. 5. By giving myself more time, attention and space, I have more to …

Why I Chose To Travel Alone

Fellow lone travellers can agree that there are so many perks to adventuring solo. If you’re on the cusp of taking a solo trip but you have a few doubts, I’m here to reassure you, you’re on the edge of a great thing… 1. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, with whoever you want. That’s right, complete freedom! You can do whatever. you. want. If you want to get up at 4AM to watch the sunrise, nobody’s gonna tell you no. If you want to spend a whole day shopping, you can. If you want to just relax in your hotel all day, you can! It’s completely up to you. It’s up to you whether you want to hang out with others too, if you’re staying in a hostel, you’re going to meet super fun people, so the option to be with people is always there. But if you want to just be on your own, you can. You set the rules! 2. It’s being completely independent. I’ve always been quite an …

5 Lessons Learnt Living in London

I’ve spent the first 3 years of my 20’s in London working, meeting new people and expanding my mind… With life moving at what only feels like 100mph, I’m taking this opportunity to stop time for a moment and reflect… When I think of London, I think of it as my home. Home is where you feel most like yourself and at ease. It’s a crazy city and not much of it is peaceful, but whenever I go away and come back to London, I feel content. Even if I’ve had an amazing holiday, knowing that I’ll be coming back to London makes me happy. So why do I love it so much? What have I learnt? 1. There are people on your wave length Where I lived before London, I had 0 friends that wanted the same things out of life as me. They say to surround yourself with people who inspire you and I feel like I did exactly that. Now I have a handful of wonderful people who I trust and can …

Saying Yes to Life

In the last few weeks,  my life has taken a dramatic turn around and it’s all down to changing my mind set on one word… Yes! I’ve knows for a long time now that saying ‘no’ is a safe answer, it means that you can safely head home, order a pizza and watch a whole series on Netflix, it means that you keep your satisfactory 9-5 job and safely pay your bills on time. It means you’ll be in a place where no one can hurt you or say anything mean… When you’re saying ‘no’, you’re staying within your comfort zone… “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone” – Neale Donald Walsch For example, was I in my comfort zone when I decided to leave everybody I knew and move to London with no job, no friends and no money? Did I feel comfortable leaving a job I absolutely hated, with the risk of not finding any better work? Am I in my comfort zone when people from all over the world read my …

5 Ways To Practice Self-Love

Happy Valentines Day! What better day to share with you some advice on self love?! Practising self-love is actually a very simple concept that I don’t think was properly wired into our brains. Everyday we put others first and look for acceptance from the people around us but never from ourselves. Self-love is not about being a narcissist or self-absorbed, it’s about our well-being, happiness and being in check with ourselves. So here are 5 tips to help start off your good, self-loving habits… 1. Eat well and love what you eat Fuel yourself with nutritious food and your body will thank you. Be intentional about what you put into your body, not because you want to look good, but because you want to feel good too! Try to cut out all the processed foods and stick to healthy proteins, fats and lots of vitamins and minerals. I do allow myself to eat sweet things occasionally, If I ever had to give up chocolate I’d be an extremely sad person! “Our bodies are our gardens …

Farewell 2016, Hello 2017!

Bose SoundLink Mini | Iced Cinnamon Rolls Candle | Macbook Pro | Kindle PaperWhite | Hand Cream | 2017 Planner | mug | Sony R100 mkiii | Rings (vintage) I think it’s safe to say, 2016 has been a really crap year for everybody… Whether you live in the UK and your heart was broke by the results of the EU referendum or you have Donald Trump as President… We’ve all had a tough time. So many celebrity deaths I’ve lost count, multiple terrorist attacks and a refugee crisis. That’s what’s been happening in the world, let alone so many of us experiencing our own personal loss and incredibly difficult times. But if you’re reading this, you’re one tough cookie and you’ve made it to 2017! One thing I have come to understand about tough times is that they always, without a doubt, make you stronger and even more determined to do better. Thats what 2016 gave us, the strength and determination to go above and beyond. I’ll be totally honest with you, I haven’t felt …
