Why have an avocado smoothie for breakfast when you could have a Cronut?!

It’s about that time of the year where my conscious eating goes completely out the window and I stock up on mince pies and other sweet things. Today I tried something I’ve never tried before. A cronut! Created by the famous N.Y.C pastry chef Dominique Ansel, It’s a pastry that resembles a donut and is made using croissant dough which is then filled with a ganache or jam then fried in oil. They make only one flavour a month, So I’ll be back in January to try their next creation!

Gianduja (hazelnut milk chocolate) and English Rose Jam

The cronut is crispy and delicious, filled with creamy hazelnut ganache and a thin layer of rose jam. I definitely approve. But if you’re going with a friend, suggest sharing dishes as they have a wide selection of cakes and pastries to choose from. That way you can taste a few different desserts without feeling so guilty!

They also have so many Christmassy things I wanted to take back for my family! The Christmas morning cereal sounded amazing. Check out their Instagram post about it, here.

Next time you’re in London, pop to Belgravia and treat yo’self! I recommend going early as it gets rather busy by lunch time.
